Chemotherapy and it's Psychological facts

Cancer means uncertainty in life..This is one layer of pain

Chemotherapy means adding one more layer of pain...I am not trying to scare anyone but honestly I was very scared...

When I was prepared for my first round of Chemotherapy..Hospital Chemotherapy counselor mentally prepared me for side effects, at the same time she mentioned that this pain would be temporary.
She gave me a hope by showing some Cancer survivor success stories.

Finally I was prepared for FOLFOX Chemotherapy and it was 48 Hour infusion. In June 2011 I had to go Radiology Department to insert Chemotherapy port. I was on fasting almost 24 hours for this procedure. This was a minor surgery to insert Chemotherapy port on your chest.I had procedure done in the morning and afternoon directly went Chemotherapy infusion Department.

Nurse took my Vitals and started Chemotherapy infusion..After couple of hours I started feeling pain due port surgery and Chemotherapy..My hands started feeling tingling and I feel like throwing up.

One of my best friends took PTO and stayed with me all the 48 hours of infusion. My friend was so kind that he used to feed the food and stayed next to me all three days.

After the first cycle I was back to home.I was very tired, lost appetite, couldn't sleep...

Cancer and it's turbulance

I started this blog to share my experience in fighting against Cancer and beat the Cancer

When Doctor says First Time that you have a Cancer..First thing comes in our mind is Fear of Death..
It was scary and overwhelming with emotions...

Then anger, frustration and pain...I cried whole day the Day I was diagnosed the Cancer in July 2010..

It took me a week to accept the reality and decided fight against this deadliest disease...

Since childhood I was very careful about health, always try to avoid Doctors..The reason to avoid the Doctors is I am very scared of needles.I used to faint whenever I see blood..There are cases in my childhood I fainted just for small needle poking..

Today I am surprised to see my self that I could able to withstand two major surgeries, six out patient procedures and Chemotherapy infusion..

The good thing is currently I am Cancer free and going under remission..

I should be Thankful to my family ,friends and my co-workers who supported me throughout this two year journey..

Cancer gave me an opportunity to find who are near and dear to me...Cancer also gave me an opportunity to find out who are materialistic..

I would be sharing my experience in next few weeks..

Cancer is not a death sentence...
